Seargin is looking for a System Test Engineer (PLC)

• Position: System Test Engineer (PLC)
• Location: Katowice (due to pandemic, currently work can be performed remotely)

Main tasks for the System Test Engineer (PLC) will be:

• Performing routine system testing utilizing existing test collateral and test cases
• Reporting any issues identified and documenting test results for follow-up
• Working with the development team to characterize any issues found
• Developing new test collateral – mostly control system applications – and test cases in response to new product or system requirements
• Developing knowledge and understanding of system testing practices
• Actively seeking and improving knowledge of system test development processes
• Evaluating, challenging, and researching possible solutions by seeking input from subject matter experts to assure fact-based recommendations and decisions are being made during all phases of product development
• Establishing a timeline for assigned tasks/projects and being able to track and report progress as well as meet deadlines
• Utilizing test tools and methods to assure full system test coverage is attained
• Conducting informal presentations to small groups regarding specific technical topics

The Candidate should have:

• Educational background in Control Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a Computer Science emphasis (Bachelor’s degree)
• At least 2 years’ experience developing and starting up control systems – either process control or manufacturing automation
• Knowledge of:
  • PLC programming languages like LD, SFC, FBD, ST or IL
  • Test or software development
• Experience with:
  • Any of the popular DCS (distributed control systems)
  • Scripting languages such as Python
  • Motion/servo based controllers and drives
• Familiarity and experience with functional safety, fault tolerant designs, and safety integrated systems
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken)
