The main tasks for the Backup Engineer will be:

• Making sure that data is stored securely and in accordance with business and legal demands
• Managing day-to-day Backup, Restore & Archive operations and cooperating with colleagues from around the world in controlling the service
• Managing capacity, performance-tuning of second- and third-level incident handling in relation to CDM services
• Collaborating with infrastructure architects and application providers in searching for the best solution for new platforms, both technically and financially

The Candidate should have:

• Proficiency in backup technologies, i.e. Veritas NetBackup, Networker, Avamar, Veaam, IBM, and/or TSM/Spectrum Protect Co
• Broad experience with CDM solutions in an enterprise environment – knowledge of Cohesity and practical experience is highly valued
• Advanced knowledge of the Windows and Linux operating systems, combined with database administration (Oracle, SAP Hana, MS SQL, etc.) for supporting client-side backups and basic knowledge of SAN protocols FC/ISCSI
• Ability to automate administration tasks using shell scripting or any other programming languages (nice to have) and possess solid knowledge of REST APIs
• Knowledge of ITIL processes like incident, problem, and change management
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken)
