Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile Ceremonies
- Organize and lead all Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives. Ensure these sessions are efficient, focused, and time-boxed
- Guide Adherence to Scrum Framework
- Ensure the team adheres to Scrum principles and practices. Help team members understand the importance of Scrum theory, values, and best practices to achieve sustainable progress
- Optimize Team Processes and Workflows
- Continuously seek ways to improve the team’s processes and workflows. Work with the team to identify bottlenecks, optimize efficiency, and implement adjustments for smoother operations
- Monitor Sprint Progress and Performance
- Track sprint progress using tools like burn-down charts and velocity reports. Ensure the team is on course to achieve its sprint goals and intervene promptly when necessary
- Coordinate with Stakeholders and Product Owners
- Act as a liaison between the development team and Product Owners. Help clarify requirements, prioritize tasks, and align team efforts with business goals to deliver maximum value
- Risk Management and Mitigation
- Work with the team to identify potential risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate significant risks to the Delivery Manager. Act proactively to minimize development-related obstacles.
- Support Quality Assurance and Standards
- Ensure that the team maintains high standards in product quality by upholding practices like the Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria. Collaborate with the team to maintain or improve quality benchmarks.
- Drive Continuous Improvement in Retrospectives
- Facilitate meaningful retrospective discussions to identify areas for improvement. Guide the team in setting actionable goals and following up on improvements in subsequent sprints
- Remove Impediments to Team Progress
- Actively work to remove or reduce any impediments that may hinder team progress. When external assistance is needed, coordinate with relevant departments or managers to resolve issues efficiently
- Support Team in Advanced Agile Practices
- Provide coaching on advanced Agile practices to help deepen the team’s understanding. Empower the team to enhance Agile methodologies to suit specific project needs and maturity level
- Enhance Collaboration with Business Stakeholders
- Foster better communication and collaboration between the development team and business stakeholders. Ensure that team activities align with business goals, facilitating transparency and alignment
- Maintain Project Status Transparency
- Regularly communicate project status updates to the Delivery Manager and other stakeholders. Provide clear information on project progress, risks, and any challenges faced by the team
- Ensure Compliance with Agile Values and Principles
- Promote Agile values and principles within the team, emphasizing continuous learning, collaboration, and responsiveness to change. Help the team stay true to Agile philosophy in daily operations
- Identify and Mitigate Technical Risks in Data-Driven Projects
- For IT and data-specific projects, proactively recognize technical risks and constraints. Build a network within the organization to address these issues, ensuring the team is prepared for data-specific challenges
Requirements
- Educational Background in IT or Business
- A Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or equivalent relevant experience in a related field
- Extensive Experience in Software Development
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in roles related to software development, demonstrating a deep understanding of development processes and team dynamics
- Proven Track Record in IT Project Management
- At least 5 years of experience coordinating project teams and managing IT projects at a medium to large scale, with exposure to both local and global project scopes
- Experience with Virtual and Dispersed Teams
- Demonstrated experience in working with virtual and geographically dispersed project or service teams, effectively managing remote collaboration and communication
- Strong Project Management Knowledge
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools, with practical experience applying these in an Agile context
- Advanced Agile and Scrum Certifications
- Certifications in Scrum and Agile methodologies, including PSM I, PSM II, or PSM III. Must also hold at least one scaled Agile certification, such as SAFe 4 or LeSS Practitioner
- High Proficiency in English
- Fluency in English, with a proficiency level of C1/C2, enabling clear communication with international teams and stakeholders
- Advanced Consulting and Negotiation Skills
- Strong consulting and negotiation skills to facilitate stakeholder alignment, manage expectations, and resolve conflicts constructively
- Ability to Facilitate Agile Ceremonies
- Proven ability to organize and lead Agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives) with a focus on effective facilitation
- Experience in Risk Management and Mitigation
- Strong background in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, especially within an IT context, and working with teams to minimize potential impacts
- Commitment to Quality Assurance Practices
- Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices within Agile, including maintaining a Definition of Done and enforcing Acceptance Criteria to ensure delivery standards
- Strong Background in Process Optimization
- Demonstrated experience in optimizing team workflows, removing impediments, and improving processes to boost team efficiency and project outcomes
- Experience in Data and IT-Specific Projects
- Background in IT data projects or familiarity with concepts such as Data Products, Data Mesh, or SAP BW is preferred to ensure relevance to project demands
- Multicultural and International Team Experience
- Experience working in multicultural, international environments, adapting to diverse team dynamics and cultural nuances
- Proficiency in Advanced Agile Coaching Techniques
- Skilled in providing advanced Agile coaching, fostering a deeper understanding of Agile values and practices to elevate the team’s Agile maturity
