Seargin is looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer

• Position: Senior Software Test Engineer
• Location: Katowice (due to pandemic, currently work can be performed remotely)

Main tasks for the Senior Software Test Engineer will be:

• Participating in the testing activities for motion control features in a PC-based software tool used for configuring automation controllers and attached devices
• Participating in requirements development, architectural design of automated test systems, test design, effort assessment, design, coding, and examining of automated test systems
• Planning, developing, conducting and maintaining manual and automated tests
• Preparing test plan, test cases and test reports.
• Ensuring that team’s automated and manual tests have appropriate coverage and traceability to requirements
• Providing support in team’s CI/CD environment and approach by maintaining tests up to date, executing them frequently and reporting results to agreed stakeholders
• Analyzing functional, system requirements and designing for testability and risk evaluation
• Mentoring less experienced team members and helping them with executing testing tasks
• Controlling and assessing testing process adopted by the team and reporting any inefficiencies
• Simplifying effective communication both within local teams as well as with remote stakeholders

The Candidate should have:

• Educational background in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering (Bachelor’s degree)
• At least 5 years of experience in software testing with minimum 2 years of experience in automated testing or software development
• Documented application of one or more programming languages (C++ or Python preferred)
• Good organizational skills
• Dedication to software quality
• Excellent working ethics and positive attitude
• Experience with:
  • Motion control systems and/or industrial automation products and environments
  • Cooperating with technical development teams in numerous global locations
  • End to end testing involving user interfaces
  • GIT and Jenkins continuous integration environment
  • Test management tools (like qTest)
  • Advising less experienced coworkers
• Familiarity with software design principles and experience in code refactoring
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken) – at least B2 level
