The main tasks for the Senior Python Developer will be:

• Helping to resolve any technical challenges for the team (Troubleshooting and bug fixing reported issues with the system)
• Leading improvement initiatives
• Providing end to end technical responsibility (shared with development team) for the Genomics Platform backend systems

The Candidate should have:

• Minimum 5 years of working background in Python (FastAPI, pytest, pydantic, typing, elasticsearch, celery, boto3, pynamodb)
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in software development
• Expertise in version control and JIRA-like task management
• Knowledge of
  • Docker
  • AWS cloud (including S3, IAM, EC2, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, EKS, ECR)
  • CI pipelines
  • Automated testing - unit, int, e2e, performance, regression
  • HTTP protocol
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken)

It would be a plus if the Candidate had: 

• Familiarity with
  • Kubernetes
  • Process orchestration in high-performance computing environments
  • Building distributed systems
  • CD pipelines
  • Asynchronous programming, task/job queues (like Celery), JSON syntax
  • Redis (or other similar in-memory data store), RabbitMQ (or other similar message broker)
  • OAuth 2.0 framework
