 The main tasks for the Senior Data Engineer with Spark will be:

• Building software that allows our customers and business associates to easily make effective decisions
• Designing strong solutions on cutting-edge compute engines such as Databricks and Presto
• Designing modern data warehousing solutions (Synapse, BigQuery, Redshift or Snowflake)
• Solving large-scale business problems
• Participating in cross-functional initiatives and collaborating in various fields
• Working closely with engineers, product/project managers, and partners from around the globe

 The Candidate should have:

• Practical experience in the role of Data Engineer for at least 6 years
• Expertise in SQL and at least one programming language (Python/Java/Scala)
• Background in data pipelining, distributed data processing, software engineering components, and data modeling concepts (Spark)
• Experience with version control system (GIT, Azure Devops, SVN)
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken)

It would be a plus if the Candidate had: 

• Familiarity with data formats: Parquet, ORC, Avro
• Understanding of emerging concepts like Deltalake/Apache Hudi/Iceberg
• Hands-on experience with workflow/pipeline tools like Airflow/Luigi/Oozie
• Knowledge of
  • Using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Cloud Azure/AWS/GCP
  • Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps principals
