The main tasks for the Senior Big Data Engineer will be:

• Building software that allows our customers and business associates to easily make effective decisions
• Designing strong solutions on cutting-edge compute engines such as:
  • Hadoop Ecosystem (e.g. HDFS, HBase, Hive, Impala)
  • Spark, DataBricks
  • Hadoop distribution systems [Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR]
  • Data Integration using [NiFi, Sqoop]
  • Workflow scheduling using [AirFlow, Oozie]
• Solving large-scale business problems
• Participating in cross-functional initiatives and collaborating in various fields
• Working closely with engineers, product/project managers, and partners from around the globe

 The Candidate should have:

• Professional experience in Big Data (At least 6 years)
• Practical experience and knowledge of
  • Spark and [Python, Scala]
  • Big Data architecture patterns
  • Data Integration
  • Workflow scheduling
• Experience in using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Background in Cloud Azure/AWS/GCP
• Understanding of data modelling and concepts like Data Lake, Data Virtualization, Data Mart, Data Warehouse (e.g. dimensions modelling)
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken)

It would be a plus if the Candidate had: 

• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as
  • Power BI
  • Qlikview
  • QlikSense
  • SAP BO
  • Tableau
  • Other
• German language
• Understanding of the importance of order and security in data processing
• Knowledge of data governance approaches
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps principals
• Experience in Stream processing using
  • Kafka
  • Spark Streaming
  • Storm
  • Flink
