Seargin is looking for a Project Reliability Engineer

Main tasks for the Project Reliability Engineer will be:
  • Analyzing field data to find potential reliability issues on previous generation products
  • Leading Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs) and tracking completion of actions
  • Cooperating with cross-functional team to identify critical or high-risk components that affect reliability
  • Creating and analyzing component, printed circuit board assembly, and product-level reliability models for design and predictive maintenance
  • Designing and executing HALT tests to spot potential weakness in new product design, and collaborating with cross-functional team to schedule post-HALT test actions
  • Designing and performing component and product-level reliability demonstration tests
  • Reviewing electronic component derating calculations and assisting engineers in developing solutions if violations occur
  • Generating design specifications, guidelines, and checklists to make sure reliability knowledge is captured for future designs
  • Creating custom engineering tools that help automate the Design for Reliability process
  • Developing and deploying a robust reliability roadmap and guiding teams on how to meet reliability goals
  • Reading and interpreting technical product documentation with understanding of product usage within customer application and environment
  • Owning New Product Introduction (NPI) reliability roadmap and execution and developing impactful planning to build reliability into the design
  • Performing reliability evaluation and implementing early preventive mitigation action plans
  • Implementing dashboards and metrics to drive on-going reliability improvements
  • Applying reliability methodologies, tools and techniques (e.g. Design for Six Sigma, Design for Reliability, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, etc.) incrementally and throughout product development
  • Performing predictive modeling and leading reliability assessments on life cycle conditions of the sub-system, PCA component, product, and/or system
  • Maintaining accountability for performance throughout product lifecycle
  • Accepting and holding self and team accountable for performance and results
  • Routinely presenting and communicating quality readouts to leadership
  • Managing varying priorities and collaborating across multiple KSHs and disciplines, internal and external customers
  • Participating and supporting key employee initiatives including the employee engagement survey, culture of inclusion initiatives and ethics
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, business partners and internal and external customer

The Candidate should have:
  • Educational background with at least Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or Reliability Engineering, or equivalent (Master of Science preferably)
  • At least 8 years related experience
  • Ability to:
    • Make an impact and drive results with cross-functional and global teams within a complex matrix organization
  • Run Enterprise Resource Planning system, preferably SAP
  • Deliver key input data into product requirements by leveraging deep understanding of HW, SW/FW, and embedded Software integration at a product, application, and system level
  • Knowledge of:
    • Basic statistics and probability distribution
    • Industrial control systems usage and operation
  • Expertise in Microsoft applications (Primarily Excel and PowerPoint, Power BI)
  • Proven experience in many of the areas mentioned below:
    • Accelerated life testing (ALT)
    • Design for Reliability (DfR)
    • Design of Experiment (DOE)
    • Faults mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
    • Fatigue and creep analysis
    • Fault tree analysis (FTA)

    • Manufacturing defect analysis
    • Material stress and wear calculations
    • Mean time between failure (MTBF)
    • Mean time to repair (MTTR)
    • Monte carlo simulation
    • Part stress modeling
    • Physics of Failure (PoF)
    • Reliability block diagrams
    • Reliability testing Re
    • Reliability test plan development
    • Reliability tools
    • PTC Windchill software
    • RAM Commander software
    • Reliasft software (Weibull ++, ALTA pro, BlockSim)
    • Military Handbook 217
    • Minitab
  • Six SIGMA tools and methodologies certificates (i.e., Green Belt / Black Belt)
  • Deep technical understanding of the environment inclusive of products and infrastructure that must work together to achieve the desired customer outcome
  • Comprehensive engineering skills, including the following areas:
    • Corrosion
    • Electrical
    • Material science
    • Mechanical (stress / fatigue, shock & vibration)
    • Statistics
    • Thermal
    • Tribology
  • Formal reliability training / certification: American Society for Quality – Certified Reliability Engineer (ASQ-CRE) (or equivalent)
  • Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient and solution-oriented attitude
  • Superb analytical and problem solving skills to drive performance results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
  • Great English skills (written and spoken)
