The main tasks for the IT Database Architect will be:

• Leading Database Service engineering: Creating, documenting, and managing technology design, and configuration for service updates/additions as part of change management discipline (fit4purpose, including technical integrations, automation, in liaison with IT, business and vendor stakeholders, SQL and NoSQL databases), classic and cloud
• Achieving organizational goals by determining, integrating, and upgrading a comprehensive architecture to support applications, platforms, and databases. Supervising maintenance of databases
• Leading Database platforms architecture strategy, roadmap, and deployment (including standardization and reporting) that provides effective database solutions, procedures, standards, and architecture models to facilitate secure, compliant, and reliable storing and retrieving of company data, and their safeguarding
• Influencing DB platform choice for solution proposals and ensuring guidance to service providers on the company’s DB platform strategy and standards
• Validating, evaluating, and preparing technical sign-off of technical changes in capabilities and solutions proposed by external partners
• Supervising and guiding the deployment of database solutions in IT Landscape (including PoC, PoV, and Transfer-to-Operations together with L2)
• Playing a role of an L3 SME for technical operations, incident, and problem resolution in database platforms and related domains (including error search & remediation)
• Being responsible for knowledge management: assuring operational procedures, technical designs/standards, and configuration knowledge is documented and maintained. Supporting training of staff.
• Designing and proposing DB architectures with optimal performance, availability, cost, and capacity. Guiding RUN-organization on the management of the same parameters

The Candidate should have:

• Excellent knowledge of MsSQL and Oracle
• Experience as:
  • Certified DB Architect across multiple platforms (required: Oracle, MS SQL, others plus)
  • Certified Azure Administrator & Azure Solutions architect
• ITIL certification
• Educational background with BSc in IT or equivalent (MSc preferred)
• Minimum 8 years in a relevant DB Architecture role in a global IT Infrastructure environment, including actively working with Cloud Technology (at least 2 years of demonstrable working experience)
• Minimum 3 years of BU or BU-facing experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken)

It would be a plus if the Candidate had: 

• Project Management Certification
• GxP-regulated industry background
