Seargin is looking for an EDI & Reports Engineer

The main tasks for the EDI & Reports Engineer will be:

• Collaborating closely with business partners around the globe to understand and meet business needs and regulatory requirements
• Analyzing implementation guides, mapping EDI contents to internal ERP system and clarifying EDI requirements in close cooperation with internal business stakeholders and external partners worldwide
• Working continuously on Digital Carrier Customs product, covering all software lifecycles (analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, maintenance, and third level support)
• Providing specification, data mappings, coding, testing, and production incidents’ support
• Working closely with experienced engineers in team and tight cooperation with IT-colleagues in other city as well as business partners in our branches worldwide

The Candidate should have:

• BSc/MSc in maritime industry or (as an equivalent) a few years of experience in an international (preferably sea) logistics company
• Professional experience in operations – preferably related with customs, alternatively with one (or more): import/export documentation, port operations, other logistics operations in the maritime industry
• Basic experience and strong interest in coding (any programming language or scripts)
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken)

It would be a plus if the Candidate had: 

• Familiarity with
  • ANSI X12
  • EDIFACT
  • XML
• Knowledge of one of following languages
  • Polish
  • German
  • French
  • Spanish
• Experience in data mappings or EDI development
• Fundamental understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Familiarity with Agile methodology
• Experience in Kanban
