Seargin is looking for a DevOps Engineer

Main tasks for the DevOps Engineer will be:
  • Supporting and ongoing improvements the following service management processes through focus on automation and KPI measurements: Change Management, Environment and Release Management, Configuration Management
    • Change Management:
      • Supporting the Production release cycle ensuring appropriate quality checks and controls are followed
      • Administering of the change process
    • Release Management:
      • Ensuring that all participants, issues, risks and dependencies in the release cycle are identified & Co-ordinated to ensure high quality delivery
      • Supporting and administering Nolio and Team Foundation Server, TeamCity, Jira, Git, Nuget
      • Supporting ongoing improvements in Release Management
      • Developing and implementing improvements to improve software release cycle times and remove blockers
      • Releasing third party software providers
    • Environment Management:
      • Resolving environment issues as required
      • Ensuring environments are stable and available to facilitate QA test cycles
      • Administering and utilizing Solar Winds Monitoring for Non-Production environments
      • Providing application support for pre-live environments
      • Developing and supporting other teams in the automation processes for consistent environmental provision and change
      • Making sure that changes meet architectural principles as defined by the architecture team
    • Configuration Management:
      • Being responsible for configuration management of all environments including Production, ensuring software versioning is correct across all areas
      • Configuring new servers to agreed standards
      • Assisting in identifying hardware requirements for new services, procure and assist build accordingly
      • Being responsible for upkeep of all software configurations and the documentation thereof
      • Developing and implementing automation processes in relation to configuration change
    • Others
      • Third line Production support as required
      • Supporting Rollout of After Market or Weekend Releases when requested
      • Continuing improvement of the DR process assisting with DR testing as required
      • Liaising with third party suppliers as required to support any of the above processes
      • Supporting IT Development purchasing as required
    • Maintaining a high level of conduct, ethical standards and values
    • Obeying and proactively enhancing the firm’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations and codes of conduct in all jurisdictions in which the Firm conducts business and which have an impact on its business
    • Working to identify risks and enhance control across the business Report control weaknesses, illegal, suspicious or unusual activity
    • Maintaining an appropriate level of competence through ongoing training, making requests for updates or development as required
    • Making sure that clients are treated fairly by knowing the customer and giving suitable advice where appropriate, providing an appropriate level of service, communicating clearly and fairly and ensuring complaints are reported

The Candidate should have:
  • At least 5 years general IT Service Management experience. Direct experience of at least two of the processes above is a desirable
  • Experience with:
    • Configuring Windows Services, Websites and Web Services in Internet Information Services (IIS)
    • Building and releasing management software tools
    • C# & .NET (Basic)
    • Using at least some if not all of the following: Microsoft Windows Server, SQL, networking, Streambase Pricing, Tibco Rendezvous, Website Content Management solutions, Trading applications, Websites, SharePoint, networking, LightStreamer
    • Scripting using ideally PowerShell (Windows Batch or Java Script or Perl, Python scripting considered but will be cross trained to PowerShell)
  • Practical knowledge of:
    • Automation
    • Programming Languages / Scripts: PowerShell, C#/ Java
    • Web Technologies: SOAP, REST, Web Services, ASP.NET MVC, WebApi, IIS, Apache Tomcat, Netscaler load balancer, XML, JSON,
    • Messaging: TIB RVD, TIBCO EMS, ActiveMQ (Desirable)
    • Databases: MS SQL Server
    • Trading Platforms: MetaTrader4, MetaTrader5
    • SCM, Build and Deployment Tools: Git, TFS, TeamCity, PowerShell, NuGet, Psake4, Maven, Ant, Nant, Chocolotey, gem
    • OS: Windows 2012 and Centos 7, (Desirable)
    • Virtualisation: VMWare (Desirable)
    • Development Tools: Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio, PerfMon, Fiddler, PostMan, DebugDiag
    • Monitoring: Solarwinds, Logstash, Kibana, InfluxDB (Desirable)
    • Collaboration Tools: Jira, Confluence
  • Good understanding of Agile software development cycles
  • ITIL qualified, ideally to Foundation level in at least one of the processes above.
  • Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient and solution-oriented attitude
  • Superb analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
  • Great English skills (written and spoken)
