The main tasks for the Cobol Developer will be:

• In-depth analyzing of the customer’s core banking solution
• Code auditing and evaluating of low-level design to safeguarding all functionalities, procedures, scripts, and data changes are fully realized and plainly detailed
• Creating and applying new elements to the core system, implementing integration instruments working in agile projects that follow SCRUM procedures
• Collaborating with business analysts on securing requests and with the testing crew on specifying test case scenarios
• Working as the core system subject matter expert for our project delivery squads and for the client IT functions
• Effective communicating and information sharing with the:
  • account leadership
  • architecture team
  • project teams
  • client’s IT functions.

The Candidate should have:

• Some years of practice in Cobol programming Microfocus COBOL 5.0
• Capability to evaluate and document Cobol code
• Understanding of RMDBS constructs and Oracle PL/SQL
• Experience with Linux Red Hat shell scripting
• Network notions
• Domain capability in banking core systems, demonstrated by the previous project and/or maintenance practice
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken)

It would be a plus if the Candidate had: 

• Capability in Agile Scrum setting
• Business integration patterns
• Refactoring designs and best methods
• System refactoring and redesign.
