The main tasks for the Cloud Data Platform Engineer will be:

• Creating and continually upgrading shared code libraries and other tools to assist data engineers and data scientists
• Ongoing improvement, monitoring, maintenance, and expansion of individual elements of the Data Ecosystem infrastructure in the cloud (e.g., cloud storage, queues, databases, Apache NiFi installations, Apache Kafka clusters, and Databricks workspaces)
• Testing automated alerts and incidents reported by data engineers and data scientists
• Assuring that the Data Ecosystem is safe, sustainable, cost-effective, and scalable
• Taking part in PoCs and assessing new technologies and tools
• Work with architects to establish guidelines and standards for the Data Ecosystem

The Candidate should have:

• Familiarity with deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and securing cloud resources (e.g., on Azure)
• Experience with:
• automation, version control, DevOps, and CI/CD (e.g., using Azure DevOps)
• software development (e.g., using Python, Java, or C#)
• Docker and Kubernetes
• scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, and Azure CLI)
• data (e.g., data engineering or data science)
• some of the following: Spark, Databricks, Apache NiFi, streaming (e.g., Apache Kafka).
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (written and spoken)
