The main tasks for the Big Data Architect will be:

• Being responsible for the eLake's Hadoop Cluster overall architecture
• Consulting and discussing architectural concepts and technical decisions with Hadoop Platform Owner and Development Leads
• Preparing documentation of architecture and technical decisions following the company’s regulations
• Selecting tools
• Consulting and discussing data modeling with data modeler/data architects
• Running topics such as monitoring or authorization/authentication concept
• Bringing in your own ideas for:
  • The platform design and its further roadmap
  • Technical and organizational enhancements

The Candidate should have:

• Proficiency in:
  • The Cloudera distribution, Spark, HDFS, Hive/Impala, Python, ELT
  • Python
• Documented experience of completed Big Data projects
• Background with architectural frameworks (such as TOGAF, EAM, etc.)
• Familiarity with Design & Implementation of AIM concepts
• Ability to:
  • Design a platform-wide monitoring solution for the Platform as well as for Applications running in the Hadoop Cluster
  • Design and Implement the Support Concept for the Hadoop Platform / Applications running in the Hadoop Cluster
• Knowledge of Kafka, Airflow, Kudu, Sqoop to be able to consult application developers, perform troubleshooting and adapt the respective configuration of the services
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Great English skills (B2 - written and spoken)

It would be a plus if the Candidate had: 

• Knowledge of Oracle
